I'm currently in the pre-clinical phase of my medical education in the UCLA/ Drew program. The Drew program is having its fair share of accredidation problems at present and it is primarily designed for students interested in caring for the underserved in a primary care capacity. I was wondering if these two factors would in any way hamper my chances of going into ortho, a strong interest that has been developing just recently.

shouldn't. rock your boards (no joke), do as many audition rotations as you can, get good letters, be flexible geographically. if you really love it & work you a$$ off for it, then your med school won't hold you back. good luck.
