Hey I was just wondering if anyone here has been in a similar situation:

Step 1: 215
Step 2: 240 second attempt (failed first go)
Research: 30+ publications, dozens of abstracts, grants etc.
AOA: No
Previous applicant: No
Location: East Coast

If you have any advice please don't hesitate to message me.
Thanks

That Step 1 Score and Step 2 failure for the first time are going to be HUGE red flags. There is a better than decent shot you might not match in orthopedics. If you are 100% committed, I would apply in more than just ortho (maybe PM&R or some other related specialties). It goes without saying you will have to absolutely crush the away rotations you would do and you have to rotate at places which place value on the rotation more than the scores.

That application may not even get you any interviews at places other than your rotations.
