Hi,

I have to do quite a bit of commuting and so was wondering if anyone had any good orthopaedic podcasts?

Instead of listening to mindless music I'd much prefer to be using this downtime on orthopaedics and so am looking for podcasts on any related orthopaedic topics - e.g anatomy, operative techniques, management dilemnas and so forth.

Please send links to anything that may be useful.

you know i had the same question ... i searched around and the only one i found was from the AAOS

you have to pay for it, and i am not sure if that s what you want ... i thought about doing one, but when i looked into setting it up .... that's a lot of work for little gain (and my wife would kill me) ... that is why i did the blog instead ...

if you find one, please post it ... i think it would be helpful ... for now i listen to KATG .... and to all who understand .... BRUMSKI

If you go to podcasts in the applestore and search for HSS, you will find a couple of videopodcasts of various things (SLAP repair by Dr. Williams, Shoulder exam by Dr. O'Brien etc)....probably not exactly what you are looking for but check it out

Long time lurker...first time poster. I was wondering how interested people are in ortho related video podcasts, similar to the ones put out by HSS? Has anyone else downloaded them and if so, what did you think? Do you think that they were usefull or helpful?

The reason I am asking is that I have done some work with a pretty well known knee surgeon and we have been toying around with the idea of doing some video podcats about ACL reconstruction techniques, ACL rehab, knee arthroscopy, etc. Before we got too far involved, we wanted to get some idea what the interest level in something like this was. I'd love to hear what you guys think and if this would be something that students/residents/fellows/staff would find useful.

As a student I think it would be invaluable, as I will definitely be watching several surgeries before I start my ortho rotations 4th year

check out

they have a ton of online lectures and a large question bank.
also, they are just now starting to put together some podcasts, so there are only 10 or so, but if the amount of online lectures is a clue there will be much more (they have way over 100 online lectures)

This is an area that we are exploring on Orthogate and I would encourage anyone that is interested to contact me.

We are just in the process of restructuring Orthogate and its overseeing organisation ISOST. The podcast system will be under the new Education Working Group.

We have the technology to do this however the major bottleneck is the creation of content.

Regards
Christian
