We would like to inform you about an exciting opportunity for those interested in taking a year off between your 3rd and 4th years to get some first-hand, clinical research experience as we have an unexpected funded research position open up.

This position will include a stipend of $28,000 for the year and the student health insurance. This research position offers both training in clinical research and hands-on collaboration with junior and senior faculty research mentors. Overall, this program will provide you with experience and training that will be invaluable towards your future residency and medical career goals. You will work in concert with 3-4 other members of the research team on a variety of clinical research projects underway.

The Division of Pediatric Orthopaedics and Center for Pediatric Orthopaedic Research offer a unique opportunity to conduct research in the area of pediatric orthopaedics. Our mission is to improve pediatric musculoskeletal health through excellent evidence based research. Specific areas of interest of our team are:

1) Clinical research: developing new analytical methods for evaluating various surgical and non-surgical techniques and applying these methods to innovate approaches to patient care.

2) Patient based outcome research: developing and assessing quality of life and caregiver burden outcome measures reflecting issues of importance to patients and their caregivers.

3) Health policy research: investigating and disseminating the health policy implications empowering pediatric health policy advocates.

Every year we have medical students work in our research center between their 3rd and 4th years with great success. Our three previous students have matched to their first choice residency programs. If you would like to contact some of these students, please contact us at the number below.
