Hey,

I heard UPenn won't even interview you unless you are AOA. Anyone have verification on that? Seems pretty stupid, as most med students will be rotating there before they even know...

i'm rotating at penn now - residents said that is not the case at all, may have happened in the past but is definitely not done anymore.

fyi-one of my good friends is a med student applying into ortho at penn-apparently AOA was a req for interview in the past but is not any longer; however, with that being said, there is a very large emphasis placed on AOA there according to him per the residents. just ask around and i'm sure you'll find a disproportionately large amount of people are AOA relative to other programs you may see where it may be 50/50 or so...
