People haven't posted in this forum much about the actual specifics of residency programs in a while. We have the reviews from 2012 but not much information has been said as in the past residency review threads other than a lot of generic statements such as "best operative experience" or "best didactics."

Which program has the closest group of guys out there? Ie which program will all the residents help their fellow brothers out even if main responsibility has been completed? (aka where the upper levels will take the time out to help and teach their 3,2, and interns instead of leaving them out to dry)? Which programs even have their married men (not just the single brosephs) take a concerted effort to make sure that they all get together and hang out with their fellow residents and attendings for golf, dinner, beers, football, whatever.

To simplify that entire paragraph, which ortho programs do you believe to be the most "bro" or "fraternity" type feel out of all the orthopedic residency programs?

Probably Mayo. Rochester, MN + wearing a suit every day = bro.

The thread is somewhat stupid, attempting to rank them is even dumber.

Generalization:
More academic programs recruit based on research/publications. Less academic programs have more freedom to recruit based on personality. But chemistry is difficult to create and largely changes between classes. Programs with lots of hierarchy probably hurt chemistry.
