Hi everyone,
I am going to be an M1 at Rush starting in the fall. I used to shadow/hang out/do research with a hand surgeon in Chicago, and I would love to spend a little time this summer working with/shadowing an ortho guy at Rush, maybe continuing during my time at Rush. I was wondering if anyone knew some student-friendly (or just cool) ortho guys at Rush that might be worth contacting. Thanks for the help.

Good job getting into Rush! Congrats, but don't close your mind too soon. Dr. Brian Cole is a great student resource and cutting edge researcher at Midwest Orthopaedics. I recommend him, and I'll see you in the fall as an M4.

oh and I dunno about that "great student resource" bit either .. Frankly, I'd make an appt. to see Dr. Bush-Joseph, or Dr. DellaValle .. significantly more receptive to students, practical advisors on ortho residencies, etc.

I'd first start w/ Dr. Craig DellaValle -- I'm head of the ortho interest group at RUSH, you can PM me and/or email me and I'll put you in touch w/ him. We're also gunna be having our yearly meetings w/ Dr. DellaValle, so you'll be able to attend that in the Fall.
