I scored in the low 230s on Step 1, so I decided I would schedule my step 2 early and try to boost my score before interview decisions are made. I feel like I could improve quite a bit with some dedicated review because I scored on average in the 90th percentile nationally on my shelf exams 3rd year. I've got two aways lined up already and I'm doing my home Sub-I right now, but if I decided to delay Step 2 I could squeeze in another ortho rotation either at a different hospital associated my home school (with potential to get a LOR from a very well known orthopod) or another away rotation. Has anyone been in a similar situation? Or anyone else have some advice either way? FWIW I think I will likely be elected to AOA by the time my application goes out based on my performance during years 1-3.
