Hello all, posted this in fellowship forum, thought I would try here also.
2nd year resident interested in trauma. Can anyone give their opinions on the future of traumatology? ie,: Increase in community traumatology positions- I know most positions are based out of academic centers, do you think this will persist? Trends in practice setup? "Shift work" setup - couple of groups have their docs take call and traige anything overnight, and the trauma guy comes in next to handle it; how common is it, and do you think this would be a common theme down the road?
