Reply Anyone rotate at UC-Irvine?
I'm looking for a little insight into how happy residents are, workload, relationship with faculty, etc. Any info would be greatly appreciated? Also, anyone know anything about UCLA and UCSD?

I rotated there. It is a level II trauma center, so definitely not as crazy busy as USC or UCLA Harbor. My call nights were pristine (meaning no hits), but they vary from getting slammed to getting sleep. From my understanding, there is not a dedicated hand or sports service at the main medical center so I'm not sure exactly when/where they get exposed to it. They have a great joints rotation and peds rotation which the residents seems to enjoy. Although the hospital is smaller than others, the majority of cases in the OR are ortho...ortho is a big money maker for the med center. The residents say they receive a well-rounded education. Dr. Skinner is a real down to earth guy. Hope that helps!!!
