Hey everybody. I'm currently a 3rd year and am interested in rotating at Vermont and was curious to know if anyone had any first-hand knowledge of the program. Anybody do a rotation there/interview there this year? If so, would love to hear your thoughts on the program/area/people/etc.
thanks for your help and good luck with this cycle

UVM is an incredible program. Almost anyone that has any experience with the program speaks highly of it. There are a number of things that make this program special but I will mention 3. 1st, the residents are incredible. They are all hard workers and love what they do. Their relationships with each other and with the attendings was as good as any program I have seen. They come from all over the country which I think speaks to the quality of the program. 2nd, the program itself is well balanced and well-thought out. Dr. Ames is an incredible PD. she is always thinking of ways to improve the program and is very involved with the national boards that make changes to how ortho residency programs are run. Everything takes place on the UVM campus or down the road at the outpatient surgery center. Every speciality is represented, maybe light on pediatrics and tumor. Dr. Nichols the chairman is well respected in the sports world and is incredibly personable. 3rd, you can't beat the location. Burlington is an incredible city, you look down from campus onto one of the largest freshwater lakes in the country and you are close to dozens of ski resorts.... Vermont is amazing. I would recommend rotating here for sure.
