Does anyone know if USF's program will be accepting residents for 2007? I had heard that this is the case, but I couldn't find any info on it. Also, does anyone know who would be good to rotate with at USF for an externship?

USF is still awaiting final approval from the ACGME to accredit their program. This should occur in June or July of this year. Initial plans were to start the program this fall, but they have chosen to wait until next year. Last word was that they will be accepting pgy1 and pgy2 applications. USF had a good program about 15 years ago, when it collapsed kind of like what happened to Wayne State.

If you were to rotate their I would recommend Dr. Letson. He is the man behind the whole program becoming reinstated. He is an orthopaedic oncologist and a very nice person. He will not be the chair, as he does not want that role himself.

Good Luck.
