Here are two articles that were published recently in JBJS (2012) addressing the current issues of women in orthopaedics. One describes trends in the number of female orthopaedic surgeons and includes and interesting discussion of possible contributing factors. The other compares the number of female residents at every U.S. accredited residency program over a period of 5 years (2004/5-2008/9).
