About the Job

Responsibilities of the research intern

  1. Assist in data collection of clinical studies and provide proper documentation and organization of the collected data.
  2. Prepare PowerPoint presentations for assigned surgeon researcher for topics related to the knee, hip, shoulder and ankle
  3. Close follow-up of study patients to ensure reliability and validity of the data collection processes.
  4. Assist in abstract, book chapter, and manuscript preparation, with goals of a peer-reviewed publications

Educational Level

Bachelors or Masters Degree in Biomedical or Pre-medical related disciplines. Students planning to attend medical school or PhD graduate school after completing the internship are also encouraged to apply. Non-matched medical students interested in a one year internship who wish to reapply for an orthopaedic residency are also encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated proficiency in research principles and experience with data collection, reduction and the interpretation of data sets is required.
  • Computer skills in PowerPoint & Word.
  • Able to work as a team member in a very active research group.
  • Proficient in writing skills to include manuscript preparation.
  • This position is not restricted to individuals with US citizenship, permanent residence or work permits. However, no visa sponsorship will be provided and individuals must provide evidence of valid USA VISA status at the time of application.
