Job Description: Research Coordinator

Qualifications:

  • Completed M.D.
  • Sub-internship or other direct experience in Orthopaedic surgery
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Strong writing, communication, and analytical skills (statistics experience is a plus)
  • Self-starter with the ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility and dedication required
  • English fluency required

Duties:

  • Overseeing all research projects from study design to publication
  • Developing and leading new research protocols, including laboratory-based and clinical outcomes research
  • Collaborating with orthopaedic residents and attendings on research projects
  • Collecting data on research subjects via review of patient charts, imaging, etc. and maintenance of databases
  • Preparing research protocols/applications (IRB, IACUC, HIPAA, etc)
  • Preparing grant proposals
  • Identifying, consenting, and acting as a resource for study participants
  • Assisting with lab work, possibly including cadaver dissections
  • Data analysis and the writing or editing of posters, abstracts, or scientific papers
  • Creating presentations for orthopaedic conferences
  • Preparation of textbook chapters
  • Overseeing and training the Research Aide

This is a full-time salaried position with benefits. A minimum one year time commitment is required; two years preferred.
