HotThe Steadman Philippon Research Institute is looking for third and fourth-year medical students or medical school graduates to apply for a one year clinical research position for individuals who are interested in sports medicine and orthopaedics and who also wish to pursue a residency in orthopaedic surgery in the future.

The Steadman Philippon Research Institute is known throughout the world for our research into the causes, prevention and treatment of orthopaedic disorders. We are committed to solving orthopaedic problems that limit an individual's ability to maintain an active life.
These individuals will assist in the writing and preparation of peer-reviewed and invited publications, including book chapters, surgical technique articles, and peer-reviewed publications. They will also assist in the performance of clinical research projects and the preparation of abstracts.
The research assistants will also prepare PowerPoint presentations for their assigned surgeon on a variety of topics related to Sports Medicine and orthopaedics. There will be opportunities to observe surgeries on a weekly basis in the operating room. In addition, they will be able to observe and assist in cadaver labs for the sports medicine fellows and visiting faculty.
This person will organize and work with a statistician to analyze clinical research data. They will prepare results for submission for academic publication and presentation. These individuals will have the opportunity to attend weekly educational meetings and all other local meetings where SPRI staff participate.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals to interact with world-renowned sport medicine professionals on a daily basis. This position requires excellent organizational skills. The chosen applicants must have excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and be proficient in writing skills, including manuscript preparation.
