RN Research Coordinator - CORE Institute Phoenix AZ
HotThe CORE Institute (http://www.thecoreinstitute.com/) and the Musculoskeletal Orthopedic Research and Education (MORE) Foundation (www.more-foundation.org) located in Phoenix, AZ are seeking qualified candidates to participate in clinical and trauma research. We currently have an opening for a "RN-Research Coordinator" position in our North Phoenix location.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Participates in protocol development by drafting study protocols and/or reviewing potential protocols to evaluate their effect on standard clinical procedures; submits to Human Subjects Committee for approval.
- Recruits study participants based on inpatient admission and census review and or clinic bases, by referrals or by placing advertisements on television, radio or in newspapers; schedules appointments, interviews and evaluates potential participants to ensure they meet eligibility requirements; instructs participants concerning protocol, conducts informed consent process, and obtains consent signature.
- Provides patient care providing study medication, performing tests such as electrocardiograms, and conducts functional assessments.
- Schedules and/or coordinates the scheduling of required laboratory tests and/or exams.
- Evaluates and develops patient educational materials and gives patient and/or family members instructions on drug administration and other medical information.
- Prepares project approval forms necessary for submission to appropriate committees; designs informed consent forms.
- Trains, oversees and provides current patient information to nurses, medical assistants and other health care personnel in order to assure comprehensive patient care.
- Supervises research staff when assigned as delegated by the Research Manager or Director.
- Completes case report forms for each study participant and documents medical data in patient record.
- Inventories and requisitions supplies and equipment; arranges for repair and maintenance of equipment.
- Participates in ongoing quality initiatives activities and outcomes measures.
- Maintains study material in compliance with all applicable laws, standards and regulatory bodies to ensure readiness for audit or monitoring visit
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree from a State Board of Nursing approved school of nursing AND two years of professional nursing experience; OR,
- Associate's degree or diploma in Nursing from a State Board of Nursing approved school of nursing AND four years of professional nursing experience.
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Arizona OR, possesses a temporary license from the Arizona State Board of Nursing to practice as a Registered Nurse; permanent license from the Arizona State Board of Nursing required within four (4) months of employment.
EXPERIENCE:
Two plus years experience in the health care field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
REQUIREMENTS:
BLS & CPR Certifications.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of nursing care.
- Knowledge of clinic policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of computer systems and applications.
- Knowledge of medical practices, terminology.
- Knowledge of organizational policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of clinical research regulatory guidelines and regulations.
SKILLS:
- Skill in planning and organizing clinical trials.
- Skill in evaluating effectiveness of existing methods and procedures.
- Skill in communicating with internal and external customers.
ABILITIES:
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Ability to set priorities among multiple projects.
- Ability to interact with providers, clinic and hospital staff.
