Job Opportunity: Hand Research Fellow

Research Fellow – Hand Division – Department of Orthopedic Surgery 

Location: NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital/NYU Tisch Hospital; New York, New York

Qualifications:

• Medical student or recent graduate
• Sub-intership or other direct experience in Orthopedic Surgery
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
• Strong writing, communication, and analytical skills (statistics experience is a plus)
• Self-starter with the ability to work well independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility and dedication required

Responsibilities: 

• Overseeing research projects from study design to publication
  Developing and leading new research protocols, including laboratory-based and clinical outcomes research
  Collaborating with orthopaedic residents, fellows and attendings on research projects
  Collecting data on research subjects via review of patient charts, imaging, etc. and maintenance of databases
  Preparing research protocols/applications (IRB, IACUC, HIPAA, etc)
  Preparing grant proposals
  Identifying, consenting, and acting as a resource for study participants
  Assisting with lab work, including cadaver dissections
  Data analysis and the writing or editing of abstracts and manuscript
  Creating presentations for orthopaedic conferences
  Preparation of textbook chapters

Start date: September 1, 2018. This is a full-time position. A minimum one-year commitment is required. Two-year commitment can be discussed.
