Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Surgery Research Fellowship

The Rush Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Department is seeking an ambitious medical student between M3 and M4 who is planning on a year of research to better position themselves for an application to orthopaedic surgery residency.

Position Title: Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Surgery Research Fellow
Positions: 1
Duration: Approximately June 2019 - May 2020 (flexible dates, 12 month commitment)
Location: Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush University Medical Center, Chicago, IL

Duties:
- Conduct all aspects of prospective and retrospective surgical research.
- Write and edit manuscripts and textbook chapters.
- Submit manuscripts and abstracts for publication/presentation.
- Enroll patients in orthopaedic surgery studies in clinic and OR.
- Coordinate student and resident research efforts.

Prerequisites:
- Strong academic record.
- Demonstrated interest in research.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Strong sense of self-direction and initiative.
- Attention to detail.
