The Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School Department of Orthopaedic Surgery invites medical students between third and fourth year, graduated medical students and undergraduate/graduate students to apply for a paid clinical research fellowship. This position would start in the summer of 2021.
The research assistant will work under the direction of Drs. Charles Gatt, James Monica and Brian Katt. The assistant will help coordinate the clinical research activities of the department and work with surgeons from several different subspecialties.
There will be an opportunity to gain exposure to clinical orthopaedic surgery both in the office clinic and operating room.
This is a full-time paid position lasting 1 year. Strong writing ability is necessary and experience with statistics is preferred.
Rutgers University is located in New Brusnwick, New Jersey a vibrant college town. The university’s location is in close proximity to the beach, mountains and allows for easy access to both Philadelphia and New York City.
Research Duties:
Prepare manuscripts, chapters, posters, presentations, and educational videos
Participate in monthly research meetings
Enroll patients in clinical trials
Help develop research studies
Write IRB proposals
Collect, organize and analyze clinical data
