2024-2025 Orthopaedic Trauma Research Fellowship at University of Maryland

 The Orthopaedic Trauma Division of the Orthopaedics Department at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore is accepting applications from 3rd year medical students and students who have completed their bachelor's degree interested in attending medical school in the future.

Our year-long clinical research fellowship provides a solid foundation for a future career in orthopaedics and we are dedicated to providing our fellows with a world-class education.

Research fellows will be involved in a variety of clinical studies, both prospective and retrospective, including self-directed projects and collaborative projects with our orthopaedic trauma clinical fellows. Our research fellows are fully involved in the clinical pathway while recruiting and consenting study participants, reviewing clinical data, and collecting follow up information from patients.

The Shock Trauma Center boasts a strong didactic program & research fellows will have the opportunity to participate in morning rounds, weekly case presentation conferences, and orthopedic grand rounds.

Our research fellows have a strong track record of success, with opportunities to be first author on all abstracts and manuscripts they significantly contribute to and typically co-author 8-10 publications.

Applicants must be in good academic standing and have an interest in pursuing a career in orthopedic surgery. The successful applicant will be responsible, motivated, independent, and research focused.
