2024-2026 Hospital for Special Surgery Adult Reconstruction Research Fellowship
HotThe Adult Reconstruction and Joint Replacement at the Hospital for Special Surgery invites all interested and qualified individuals to apply for a two-year research opportunity with the Implant Longevity group. There are two full-time paid positions available (Clinical Research Coordinator and Clinical Research Assistant). These research years are a great opportunity for anyone interested in the field of orthopaedic surgery.
The Implant Longevity Research group is currently focused on the biological, biomechanical and surgical techniques that contribute to the long-term success of joint replacement surgery. Core areas of investigation include learning how we can promote better bone growth and healing, selecting increasingly personalized implant materials and designs and leveraging new technologies ranging from robotic approaches to artificial intelligence, all in service of preventing implant failure for arthroplasty patients here at HSS and around the world.
Responsibilities:
- Lead or coauthor manuscripts and presentations
- Drafting and submitting IRB proposals
- Perform literature reviews, develop research hypotheses, and formulate research protocols
- Scheduling and conducting study related visits
- Data collection and management
- Develop protocols and recruit patients for studies

Qualifications: 3-4th year medical students, medical school graduates, and bioengineering graduates are encouraged to apply.
Experience:
· Experience with statistical analysis and/or coding is preferred
· 1-2 years experience in Clinical Research is preferred
· Proficient use of computers and software Working of knowledge of Microsoft Excel is strongly desired; Word, PowerPoint, EDC, EMR (preferably EPIC)
· Good interpersonal skills
· Detail oriented and organized
· Knowledge of Orthopaedic and/or Rheumatologic terminology is preferred
