Hi,

Right now, I have planned to take my Step II CK in the late part of September or early October. My dean told me to try to take it as soon as possible to try to increase my number of interviews if I do better than step I (step I is 229, no honors on my third year but excellent written reviews and I have some research experiences but not in Ortho). I have a opportunity to do a rotation in September which would push back my step II CK towards the end of October and would mean that the programs would not have my score back before the November 1st deadline. So what is better, do a rotation or take step II CK early? Does step II CK even matter as far as interviews? I don't expect getting astronomically high on Step II CK, multiple choice tests are not my cup of tea

How long does it take for Step 2 scores to come back generally? I'm taking mine in mid-September.

Yes, if I were in your shoes I would be taking Step II CK early. Its not a hard test and most people improve their scores.
