Deformity in the adult spine is occurring with increased prevalence, leading to more surgeries for deformity in adults. This course will review the indications for appropriate surgery, as well as the spectrum of treatment techniques. Hot topics include a comprehensive approach to osteotomies for realignment to the spine, discussion of surgical planning to set appropriate goals of care, and alternative approaches to achieve sagittal plane realignment.
Spend one full day in the lab performing complex techniques:
• Smith-Petersen Posterior Column Osteotomy
• Thoracic Lumbar Pedicle Screw Placement
• Pedicle Subtraction Osteotomy (PSO)
• Vertebral Column Resection (VCR)
• Lateral approach XLIF, DLIF, PSOAS
• Iliac Fixation
