The University of Cincinnati, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Division of Sports Medicine, is excited to announce an open ACGME accredited orthopaedic sports medicine fellowship position to begin August 2016.
Our fellow will enjoy a breadth of experiences and educational opportunities provided by our teaching faculty. Five orthopaedic surgery sports medicine teaching faculty and three primary care sports medicine clinical teaching faculty from the Department have active teaching roles in the fellowship.
Teaching faculty are involved in the care of the athletes at the University of Cincinnati Athletic Department, an NCAA Division 1 athletic institution. The fellow will be involved in the direct care of over 500 athletes and will learn working along-side experienced teaching faculty and through independent learning experiences. In the same fashion, teaching faculty are involved in the care of athletes at 23 local area high schools. The fellow will have more chances for independent learning opportunities by being assigned as team physician for one of these area high schools.
Our surgeons also provide care for the higher profile collegiate or professional athlete:
- Nationally recognized NFL players
- Association of Volleyball Professionals
- Professional Hockey Team, Cincinnati Cyclones
- Florence Freedom (independent minor league baseball team)
- Association of Tennis Professionals
