Responsibilities and daily activities include: learning how to develop a research hypothesis and to conduct a review of the literature; composing a research protocol; submitting research protocols to the Institutional Review Board for review; opportunities for patient interaction; opportunities to be mentored in a hospital clinic and research setting; learning and/or honing clinical examination skills; opportunities to observe surgeries; collecting, organizing and analyzing clinical research data; preparing the results for submission for academic publication and presentation to peers. The position also entails operating the Surgical Skills Lab, where residents rotate through an arthroscopy teaching curriculum.
Requirements:
- Completion of at least 3 years of medical school at an accredited U.S. institution by June 30, 2010.
