Clasado Biosciences Limited, the producers and suppliers of Bimuno(R) (B-GOS), a unique patented trans-galactooligosaccharide complex, has announced the publication of results for the latest clinical study using B-GOS. The human study, conducted by Nottingham Trent University's School of Science and Technology, demonstrated a significant 40 per cent reduction in the severity of exercise-induced asthma following consumption of B-GOS.
This is the first human study to demonstrate the potential for a prebiotic to be used as an adjunct therapy in exercise induced asthma, and airway inflammation.
The study is published in the British Journal of Nutrition and entitled "A prebiotic galactooligosaccharide mixture reduces severity of hyperpnoea-induced bronchoconstriction and markers of airway inflammation".
