why don't you do a cost analysis on step 3. How much the average person spends on books and study materials and then compare that to the cose spent by pilfering hobos, who expect to get free study materials and use pirated internet materials.
Then you could compare the scores to see if there is any correlation between cost spent on study materials and scores.
And as a third point you could see if scores tended to decline as one tended to procrastinate step 3 till later in residency.
Fourthly, you can see if there is any relationship between fellowship match rate and posting an ad on orthogate asking people to do your fellowship research for you.
