Would love some more info on this program from any residents, rotators, interviewers. Pros/Cons, Favor rotators? Impressions, Big on #s/paper application, etc.

I am really interested in this program and there really isn't a ton of info on it neither here or on other sites.

Thanks

Umm I think there is a good review in the Residency review sections...written by a well known author even.

Yeah. I saw that beforehand. I was just looking for more info above and beyond that. Thanks. I should have mentioned that in the original post.

Well what else do you want to know, I rotated there, spent four weeks there, I can try to answer a question if you have one.

They do like rotators and will let you know where you sit when you interview there. They are pretty big on scores, they are building a program, and want people that may have to put in that extra to help build the foundation for the program. You will come out of there being a great general orthopedic surgeon, which is what I believe programs should be doing. You will be well rounded and well exposed. Not a lot of fellows at all, maybe trauma, but not sure. Some at the Mayo. If you like the program rotate at it, they interview all of their rotators.

Thanks for your reply. You answered the bigger of my questions. After reading through many threads I get the impression that many community programs heavily favor rotators, and I was wondering if I would be at a disadvantage if I did not rotate there. Based on geographical location alone it is very high on my list with respect to a possible location for an away. Being a newer program an all I was just looking for more information from more people. Again, I appreciate your response and any others offered.

Cheers,
