Was wondering if anyone could give me some information on where to stay for the 4th yr away at Baylor. I hoping someone has traveled down this road before.

I spent eight weeks in the Homestead Village Studio Suites on Fannin St. when I did a summer program at Baylor. It is right across the street from Enron Field, about 1 mile from Baylor. There is a free shuttle going to the school and back starting at about 6:00-6:30am which is really nice but maybe not early enough for a rotation. Make sure to tell the hotel you are with the med school and they usually hook you up with a discount. Each room has a little kitchenette w/ fridge, stove, microwave, pots & pans--everything you need. Plus you get maid service once a week. Hope this helps.

I am a 4th yr student at Baylor. I don't know of any ideal (read free) housing available to visiting students. So, if you are going to pay, here are a few options. The Homestead place is nice due to the maid service, bus route, and furnishings. It may be a more expensive option. Baylor has student housing available at the Favrot Towers in the TMC. I don't know the prices for rooms or if the rooms come furnished. The good thing about Favrot is that you can roll out of bed and be at your hospital in literally 5 mins. No car needed. I also know of some students willing to sub-let rooms for visiting students. Email me personally if you want more specifics on those options. Most students live on a bus route to the TMC, but the Metro system in Houston is not the best. That's all I know.
