so I def feel the stress of "interview invites" building in all ortho applicants..
based on my experience last year, the bulk of interview invites started coming about early-mid November. I think if you haven't received invites by about early December, i'd be a little more concerned. However, remember that there are programs that send invites out late (ie. HJD) and programs where waitlists for interviews move frequently.
My personal feeling is that many programs have a decision made, but wait until after the Deans Letter/MSPE is submitted (Nov 1st) to release their decisions.
you can check the thread from last year "interviews 2006-07" to get a better sense for particular programs you are interested in.
