The Mayo Clinic Department of Orthopaedic Surgery invites senior medical students or graduates to apply for a one-year clinical orthopedic research fellowship position in sports medicine.

This is a wonderful opportunity for a highly-motivated individual to strengthen their application for the Orthopedic Residency Match. The research fellow will be expected to work on numerous projects with several investigators; therefore, excellent organizational and communication skills are paramount. Duties include project design, Institutional Review Board applications, scientific literature search, data collection, progress updates and manuscript preparation.

You will have the opportunity to work with five board-certified sports medicine orthopedic surgeons. Our current fellow has been prolific, with 26 ongoing projects yielding 11 manuscripts accepted or in consideration for publication and 14 abstracts submitted for national/international meetings. He participated in 15 orthopedic residency interviews and we expect a successful match this month. Last year’s fellow was equally productive, and successfully matched into a top-ranked orthopaedic program.

Please contact our current fellow

We wish you success in this year’s match!

Sincerely,

Michael J. Stuart, MD
