I will be an Ortho Intern starting this July. Just curious as to what books/instruments are must haves for me as I prepare to start intern year. Thanks!

I'm curious about pocket handbooks/references that are useful. I already have Koval and found this to be a great reference when on call, but does anyone know of and/or recommend something more along the lines of a general orthopaedics pocket handbook that would be useful to carry around in your pocket? Thanks.

Not a comprehensive book by any means, but Tarascon Pocket Orthopaedica is small, has a lot of quick reference info, and is cheap (~$10). Many first and second year residents at my home program liked it, and I have used it in away rotations.

Tolerances (Cheap, small, must have. Lists acceptable tolerances of angulation and displacement, etc)

Manual of Orthopaedics (larger pocket book, worth looking at)
