Orthopaedics vs. Orthopedics

Uh-oh,
You spelled it "orthopedics"? Do you have a back up plan for when you have to scramble?

I doubt it will be anything but a minor annoyance to even the most anal PD or resident reading your app.

The way you spelled it just makes you look unrefined...

It probably doesn't matter. Unless the "ae" is conjoined, as in "æ", the top tier programs would have thrown your application in the trash anyway.

Seriously, any Orthopod who has time to worry about how Orthopedics is spelled obviously has more time on their hands than they should. Come to think of it, there was one pompous staff who was offended by my casual use of the term "orthopod" in a conversation. Looking back, he was quite the tool.

You know, it's a slippery slope. Once you start down the road of Orthopædics, then you're obligated to report other things... like my third year rotations of Anæsthesia and Pædiatrics, as well as Obstetrics and Gynæcology. Irritatingly, my research had been in the area of ischæmia and reperfusion injury. At first I changed them all in my app and quickly realized that it looked highly-questionable.

I switched back. Then I compromised for Orthopaedics.
