There will be people who refuse to sign a prelim-surgery contract next week. I am an American Medical Student who was unsuccessful in the Orthopaedics match. I seek a prelim surgery year that will allow me to complete the PGY-1 Orthopaedics requirements (there are several variations).

I have solid board scores, many publications, and a lot of support from faculty in the orthopaedics world. Please PM me with openings.

Orthopaedics requirements as stated by the ACGME are below. They are very flexible.

6 months: Surgery (multi-system trauma), plastic surgery/burn care, intensive care, and vascular surgery.

3 months: Neurosurgery or Neurology, Pediatric surgery or pediatrics, MSK imaging, anesthesiology, medical/cardiac intensive care, internal med, rheumatology, rehabilitation.

Maximum of 3 months of Orthopaedic surgery.

I did, and I am.

I am awaiting a spot to open if/when someone backs out of their contract. Please PM me if you know of a spot that is likely to become available. My apologies for any confusion. And yes, I am actively seeking a position - my dean is also contacting program directors in the local area for unexpected openings.

Thank you,
