This subject line sounds like I am signing up for a dating service!!! (did I mention I like long walks on the beach)

Over my different rotations when I have explained my desire to go the ortho route I have repeatedly been asked, "Are you married, do you have a serious boyfriend?" And it is not b/c they want a date.

Bottom line I am looking for a place where I would not be the only single person in a sea of married with kids. I am NOT looking for dating potential (I would like to steer clear of medicine for that), but I am looking for a program preferably a residency program that has a city feel.

Any suggestions (anywhere in the country) on residency programs that can offer this. Please, any comments would be much appreciated!

Funny post.

There are many, many programs out there that would satisfy your carnal desires. To find programs with a "city feel", narrow your search by eliminating programs that are NOT in cities. Then look into programs that are located INSIDE cities. Programs with a "city feel" tend to be located inside cities.

Now the hard part is find a city in which you can take long walks on the beach.

Try Miami, San Diego.

When interviewing for ortho (2001/2002) I remember MAXIM put out a "GREATEST CITIES" issues. There were about 15 different versions of this issue, each one distributed in that particular area of the country.

Their goal was to sell mags... I'm just out to give an honest opinion of cities with a lot of singles action.
Hopefully these cities, which are great for guys, would be good for ladies too...
Anywayz,
My list of Greatest Cities for mid to late 20's singles (in no particular order):
Miami
D.C.
Atlanta
NYC
Houston
Chicago
LA

I'm sure there are many others, but you can't go wrong with any of these.
The only down side is the cost of living... But hey, sounds like you're pretty hard up for a date so you may just have to bite the bullet!

Thanks, but hopefully it is not a surprise when I say I have already narrowed it down to the Big Cities! I guess I am really interested to know if anyone has had any experiences at the programs located in these areas.

. . . now, on to finding that date
