Hello,

1) Is it possible to hide Step 2 CK scores? ie opt out of sending them to schools.

2) If so, can you later reveal them, e.g. if you do well or better than on Step 1?

Thanks.

Yes, you can "hide" your Step 2 scores by checking the box in your ERAS application indicating that you do NOT wish to automatically release any new score reports. This will allow your Step 1 scores, which are already on file, to be sent to all the programs that you apply to, but prevents your Step 2 CS or CK scores from being sent until you log back in and re-authorize their release if you choose to do so at any point in the future.

Note that if you choose to release your Step 2 scores they will be sent to every program you applied to. You cannot selectively pick and choose which programs it will be released to. [/list]

Keep in mind this only works if your step 2 ck/cs score is released AFTER you submit eras. If it already on your transcript when you submit eras it will be released with your step 1 score.

Clarification: you note both Step 2 CS and CK together. Can you selectively release Step 2 CS distinct from Step 2 CK?

Only if you take the one you want to release before the other.

The question on ERAS is something along the lines of "release USMLE transcript changes without requiring reauthorization?"

So if you take ck before cs (or vice versa), you can release one without the other. However, you cannot select to release one but not the other if both scores have already been posted. If you want to release only the CS or only the CK, then make sure you are going to get your score report for the respective test before the one you don't want to release.

Personally, I released step 2 ck when it came back (took it first), then once my CS came back i released it as well.
