This is going to sound super anal, but bear with me because I'm not the only person in my class who is wondering about it... I registered for my 4th year clerkships the other day and it turns out that the only two spots at the hospital I want to rotate at for my "Orthopaedic Surgery Elective" rotation were full (basically the home sub-i here). There was an open spot in a second clerkship called "Orthopaedic Traumatology" which is at the same hospital, and from what I understand based on the experience of those who have taken both electives, is the same exact clerkship experience (just a different name). I was able double register for the "Orthopaedic Surgery Elective" at a different, less desirable location, and the Traumatology elective at the hospital of my choice but I will have to drop one of these soon otherwise the regsitrar will drop both of them for me haha. Does anyone know if the different wording on my transcript would have a negative effect when I'm interviewing considering interviewers may be wondering what the Orthopaedic Traumatology elective is? For what its worth, the reason the location matters is because the PD in the department at my school works at the one hospital and obviously I'd like to get the opportunity to scrub in with him and work in his clinic.[/b]

Your interviewers will assume that you were on the orthopedic trauma service. No worries.
