So I found out my transcript got uploaded to ERAS before any of my 4th year ortho rotation grades were in. Most all of the programs I applied to had already downloaded my stuff. Do I need to send them all a copy of my transcript with the ortho grades? Still havent received any interview offers yet and just wondering if this is what is holding me back.

Just have your school upload a updated transcript. It will be available on ERAS for schools to download. I did it twice.

They did it for mine. All 3 times. You can check what they download and when on ERAS

I'm not sure it really matters, though. The bottom line is that a program isn't going to offer you an invite simply because you got honors on a home or away Ortho rotation. I just can't imagine that an ortho rotation grade will "tip the scales" in your favor. Program directors expect that students do well on their Ortho rotations. After all, that is what you wanted to go into. Your letters of recommendation should speak to your performance on the rotation and are vastly more important than the grade, especially if the attending knew you well. That's just my $.02

By the way, if you haven't checked out the article by Bernstein in JBJS from 2002 (I think), you should read it. It is entitled something like Orthopedic Residency Selection Criteria. They looked at what students felt were important and what directors felt were important for obtaining a residency in Orthopedics. The top 3 for directors were (1) away rotation at their program (2) USMLE Step I score (3) Rank in medical school.

My elective grades were never put in my transcript last year and I was never asked about it once. People were much more focused on my letters.
