The Mayo Clinic Division of Pediatric Orthopedics in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery is pleased to offer a 12-month research fellowship in Pediatric Orthopedic Clinical Research. The purpose of this program is to provide highly capable medical school graduates with additional training in clinical research and the opportunity to complete one or more clinical research projects. Four surgeons in the Division of Pediatric Orthopedics will serve as mentors and supervisors. We have an active research program with ongoing projects in pediatric hip conditions, scoliosis, pediatric sports, and trauma. The research fellow may attend all departmental conferences, journal clubs, and division research meetings. Objectives include development of a research question and study design, IRB preparation, data abstraction, statistical analysis, and manuscript preparation. The goal of the rotation is authorship on peer-reviewed publication(s). The research fellow may complete additional training sessions in clinical trials design, statistical analysis, and manuscript preparation with significant opportunity for mentorship.
