I just finished my 4-year orthopaedic residency training at the University of the Philippines-Philippine General Hospital. I plan to take fellowship training in adult reconstruction at any institution preferably in the new york / new jersey / philadelphia area. Once I am done with my training, I plan to go back to my country and hopefully impart the knowledge and training that I have learned to my ortho colleagues back home.
I will be taking my USMLEs steps 1-3 early this year and hopefully plan to match on the 2010-2011 or 2011-2012.
I would just like to know what are the chances of an international orthopaedic residency graduate getting a fellowship slot in those areas. Presently, I am interested at HSS, Lennox-Hill, UPen, NYU-HJD. If anyone can suggest other institutions that I could apply to, I would appreciate it tremendously.
