I have a couple of questions (I apologize for any ignorance in advance):

1.) Is it an annoyance/fauz pas for me, as a MS3, to contact program directors in advance of application to introduce myself? My program is in the SE and our faculty have little contact with programs outside of the region, and I am looking for more information on other programs. Additionally, is it advisable to send a CV to the program directors as a means of my competition assessment?

2.) My school does not allow for specialty AI's (Sub-I), only core AIs are allowed in Medicine, Surgery, etc. (none in ortho). My AIs in ortho will be done during away rotations. So, do you think a decent grade in an AI is something that would be good for an application? Or is this one of the many things that makes no difference to most, thus being postponed to the post-interview period?

Thanks so much,
SA
