Still haven't received any interview offers - there's been about 15 programs that I've applied to that have sent out their offers already. So far I'm at 3 rejections and 1 waitlist.

I thought coming in I'd be a pretty strong applicant - 260+ step I, many pubs from a research year, not AOA but do have some clinical honors. I'm wondering if I should start looking into whether there's a red flag on my app?

Anyone have any advice? Is it early enough that this could just be bad luck so far? Any past applicants have this happen to them?

Thankks for the link, that thing is ridiculous. A program could basiclaly let this thing choose their applicants for them by setting the parameters they want without reading anything in the application...interesting. Just keep changing the setting until it gets to the number of applicants they want to interview...

Secondary Gain: it's too early in the game. The programs rejecting right now are doing so primarily on the basis, in my opinion, of regional selection and Step 1 scores, not necessarily red flags.

On the matter of red flags, if you are curious to see what the PDs see when they look at our applications, check out the NRMP bulk upload tutorial:

I love how they make this stuff public.

Hang in there guys. Secondary gain, I noticed from prior posts that you were looking into doing AIs on the west coast. If this is the case and you did rotate out west then consider the fact that very few (only one I think - Arizona) west coast programs have actually offered any interviews. Good luck.

Not sure about my LOR's, since I'm not allowed to read them and my school doesn't let us know if one of them is weak. My letter writers weren't famous or anything, just people I worked with during my sub I who said they would be happy to write letters for me. As for Step II, I haven't taken it yet... planning on taking it late this month.

I applied to 77 programs total - all over the country and about an even mix of academic and community.

I agree that its still early, but 0/15 so far does have me worried. Appreciate the kind words though.

at this point, like many have said, it is very early in the process. I would tend to think you'll end up being alright. How are your LOR and did you take step 2 yet? Also, how many programs did you apply to?

I would also say that if you look at older threads a lot of people had 0 interviews at this point last year.

I would say that there is definitely no rhyme or reason for who gets interviews and who doesnt. There is no harm in looking for any possible "red flags" in your application, but it may be too early in the process to be making that jump.

Just my 2 cents...i'd keep my head up

I'm fighting the nerves too. Other than interviews at my home program and where I rotated, I haven't even been waitlisted. Have no fear, or so they tell me.
