By former residents, do you mean the chiefs that graduated and went on to fellowships or do you mean the displaced juniors. As for the chiefs, all of them that didnât have military obligations, got some great fellowships. As for the juniors, we all ended up in stable good programs and are in the process or have already been accepted to fellowships in the coming years.
As for the controversy, I would say that is an understatement. I invite you to check out some of the previous threads on orthogate about the situation. I think a few of them went down when the server was reconstructed, however there are still some threads that describe some of the events and problems therein. All I will say is that it is a free country and everyone is entitled to make their own decisions as to their future. Hopefully they are informed decisions, but if they arenât, so be it. There are some other people out there in my similar shoes who also have opinions on the situation and have also written in and might possibly do so in the future.
As to those applicants who went to the December interview I am curious as to how the DMC explained what happened with the previous residency and how they spun their version of events. Peace.
