Well,
Last night they played pretty strong but could not stop the easy penetration of lawson at the end.

Hit some clutch threes down the stretch too but it ended up being too little too late, Hansborough really capitalized on their big man being out.

They are 5-5 now and have some tough road games, so I would rank this program pretty high for the level of difficulty.

Strengths-Sports med is very strong there, and a very solid research place, also has a prominent peds hospital in Duke Med Center; plus, Coach K, and Scheyer's stock is rising fast
Weaknesses-Some say the program is malignant, others say far from it, probably better judged for yourself; youth (too many "diaper dandies") and not as well conditioned as teams past

Hope that cleared things up on multiple levels

End up at duke and you'll probably wind up evaluating krzyzewski for "back pain" the way this season is going. A joke that they're still in the top 20.

Anyone else hear that it is malignant, and if so, how?

I interviewed there. Everything they said sounded great. They even make a point to know something about the interviewees ahead of time (which is much more impressive than sitting in the room while someone reads your application).

Facilities were nice. Attendings were nice and seemed to have a good personality. Residents said they loved it (of course they would say that).

Later on, I heard rumors of the program being malignant, but never saw it in person. You'd have to ask a Duke student or rotator.

The only thing I really disliked was the fact that they pretty much said to match there (not being home student or rotator), you had to go back for a "second look." That blows. What if I have 3 schools I'm really interested? Does that mean I have to travel a second time to each (on top of 10+ other interviews) to be thought of highly?

They have lots of fellows and just lots of residents so there is a lot of watching in the OR. And I don't like the "must go back for 2nd look" part either. It makes me not want to go there.

Did you witness that or just here about it? Because people obviously have mixed opinions about that. Anyone else feel similarly? differently? Thanks.
