I think that the whole thing is an embarrassment to medicine in general. Imagine if you matched in ortho, only for them to tell you the next day that they screwed up, and then you find out that you actually didn't match. It's unbelievable that after all the time and effort that we put in as students, not to mention all the freakin money we spend and will have to pay back for the next 10-20yrs, that the AUA can't plug some numbers into a simple mathematical algorithm that a computer does for them. Serioulsy, what the hell could there be to screw up?!?!? All you do is put numbers into a computer and the match list is spit out for them. I myself am not a urology applicant, but my best friend is and it SUCKS to see someone go through that. He was one of the people who matched the first time around, and then didn't match the second time around. What a horrible, horrible thing to do to somebody. I hope a ton of students sue their asses off, because anyone who goes through that pain an embarrassment should be given something in return. I mean we are talking about a PROFESSIONAL society!!! You would think that the least the AUA could do for students applying and spending their money on urology apps is get the f***ing match correct. I just think it's a joke and a slap in the face to not only urology students, but to ALL medical students. Whether or not you match is not the issue, but to tell someone they matched and then say, "Oh, sorry. Hopkins and Cleveland Clinic didn't get who they wanted, so we are doing it again. Oh guess what, you really didn't match. Thanks for your money and have a nice day." What a joke.
