Having participated in research simply shows that you have initiative and interest in the scientific process. This is obviously a positive attribute that any program, academic or community will value. Some community programs have as much active research as academic programs. Translation : Apply wherever you will be comfortable living the next five years of your life.

absolutely agree with orthotimes. community programs are not anti-research, anti-knowledge, nor anti-any thing else that fuels progress in science and orthopaedics. i'm not coming down on rt46, i just don't want the folks that benefit from this website to get the wrong impression about community programs in general.
