I did a month there and I really didnt like it much at all. I'm use to programs that let there lower levels in the or and there was not much of that when I was there. All the residents seem to be realitively nice but dont expect to do alot. Frankly I consider my month ther a waste of time.

I'd have to disagree with the previous post. After doing a month there and knowing some of the residents, I think it's a very solid program. The residents don't get to do much while on the joints service at the Nebraska Medical Center and they only get limited operating at Children's while on Peds, but they do get to operate while on trauma, at Creighton, with Sports at a private practice clinic, at the VA.

I think that one of the strong suits to the program is the faculty and the residents. Everyone gets along for the most part. There is a good mix of married/single residents. The faculty is very approachable and very young (mid 30's to mid 40's); all with strong fellowships. Some of them will even just chill with the residents in the resident's lounge.

About 1 female a year or so (if that matters to anyone out there) and everyone is treated as equals.

Probably about 75% go on to do fellowships and for the most part get the program of their choice. I think that there is something about where people have gone for the last ten years on their websight.

Just my $.03
