St. Vincent's doesn't have a separate residency program. The Westchester Medical Center Residents spend 3 months/year there and 1 of 3 interns does their intern year there. ALso, there's the Kingsbrook program that sends residents there, but they are not in the match. If you are really interested in trauma, I would certainly do a rotation at the Westchester Medical Center program (it's on NYMC's campus). I would not rotate at St. Vincent's because you will not meet the right people at the NYMC - Westchester program. Feel free to PM me with questions.

Definitely would have to ditto these sentiments. Westchester Medical is not only a very busy trauma center, but also an excellent learning experience for rotators. Dr. Asprinio, the chairman, is one of the most amazingly telented trauma surgeons around. Also, since not a lot of non-NYMC students rotate there, your chances would may be greatly improved by going there for a month.

I guess I was talking about NYMC Brooklyn-Queens in Jamaica NY, not St Vincents in Manhattan. Sorry bout that. I guess if you had to pick Westchester vs Brooklyn, you guys would go with Westchester? It seems like a stronger program from what I hear.
