Has any one received any responses from the ortho residency programs?

Thanks

They also did the same last year, having a semi-separate process for the 6 year track. A precaution-last year, I heard that those who said they were interested in the research track ended up not being considered for the 5 year spot anymore, so if you are interested, you may want to confirm whether or not you can apply for either/or.

Unfortunantly, I can't add any extra information, but I can say that I got the same email about screening for people to go to the research pathway at this point as opposed to the PGY-1 year. Not that any of those criteria they mention apply to me.

Criteria that they listed in the email to be considered for a research pathway spot:
1. MD-PHD graduate
2. PHD prior to med school
3. Big time reasearch involvement during med school - like doing a year of research

Anyone else get an email from NYUHJD asking about interest in the 6-year research track? The email stated that this year they will be identifiying possible applicants for this track during application screening and interviews, rather than during the PGY1 year. If you meet their criteria (MD/PhD; previous PhD; 5 years of med school with a research year; etc...) and are interested, they want you to reply stating so.

St. Mary's will be sending out invites in the next week or two. UCSF stated in an earlier email that invites will be going out in early December. I have not heard from any other California programs regarding their invitation status.

Has anyone heard anything more from the California schools?

From a few other posts and personal experience, it seems like if you don't get something in the original wave (or two) from a program, odds are that you won't be offered an interview there. It seems like some of the programs do send out a second wave a week after the first (Duke did this, Carolinas Med Center, Penn State, I think, and Hopkins might be planning to...), but after that if you haven't heard anything, I wouldn't get your hopes up. Stanford, for instance, have allegedly sent out the only interview offers they plan to send, but have not sent out rejections.

Also, keep in mind that it's still early, so wait lists won't be moving as much because people's schedules aren't filled yet. I'm hopeful that in the coming weeks, wait lists will start moving a little bit as people turn down or cancel offers that conflict.

Just my two cents, and good luck to everyone. This is a frustrating process...

Does anyone know if any of the programs that have sent out invites are going to be sending out more invites later, or do they all send out only one round of invites. Obviously, this is a broad question, but any info would be appreciated.

Thanks

I figured maybe they just wanted to know if you are in AOA & which year (junior or senior) you were inducted? I agree, though, very bizarre email

From Tenessee received 10/29:
Many of you have been inquiring about our interview dates. Our interviews will be held on November 30, December 14, and January 11. When invitations are sent out, they will also include activities on the Thursday evening before the interview day.
